.New investments will benefit the production of rums and Cuban perfumes

Las Tunas. - Investments in the two distilleries of Las Tunas eastern province will facilitate the daily production of some other 450

hectoliters of alcohol, volume whose half will be of the superfine type, very well paid abroad and excellent for the elaboration of diverse rums and Cuban perfumes.

The assembly of modern lines in the factories Amancio Rodriguez and Antonio Guiteras, located to the south and the north of this city respectively, 690 kilometers to the east of Havana, will guarantee bigger efficiency, because it diminishes the consumption of syrup and increases the levels of alcohol during the fermentation.

Lazaro Guerrero Fernandez, Director for Derived Products of the Sugar Managerial Group in Las Tunas, told Tiempo21 that the system to extract superfine alcohol was imported from Germany, although it has numerous Italian components that should help to obtain competitive rums for the international market.

The specialist explained that with equal purposes, the distillery Amancio Rodriguez was equipped with a producer plant of liquor, which will favor the production and commercialization of good beverages, in national money and in freely convertible currency.

In accordance with the program of development, in 2010 it will improve the quality of the rums Delicias (factory Antonio Guiteras) and Sevilla (Amancio Rodriguez), marketed in national money, and Corsario, Conde de Cuba and Bucanero, on sale in foreign currencies and, in the case of the later one, candidate to be sold abroad.

A prioritized destination for the production of alcohol in Las Tunas will be the industry Suchel in the Cuban capital that needs the ethylic superfine liquid to elaborate perfumes and cosmetics.

Simultaneously, the province will continue exporting certain quantities of technical alcohol B, which is widely used in diverse countries for the production of drinks, drugs and other items.
