Las Tunas.-
Today I saw to
Meñique, Pilar,
Masicas, and
Piedad who was
loading her
father's broken
book. I felt
that these
characters of
The Golden Age
had life. I
perceived huge
happiness,
pride, and
homage in the
streets of Las
Tunas.
This morning the
artery of this
city was full
with children
that marched to
give all their
gratefulness to
Marti in his 157
birthday
anniversary.
It is that the
Apostle of the
independence of
Cuba bequeathed
The Golden Age
to all the
children, a work
that already
shines gallant
its one hundred
years and his
intention was to
teach them the
importance of
reading to
acquire
knowledge.
Today the dwarf
princes were
wearing the most
colorful suits
to represent
with enthusiasm
the main
characters of
the short
stories written
by Marti.
I also saw
several of them
dressed like
him, because he
lives in their
hearts and his
effort for their
happiness was
not in vain.
It was not an
ordinary parade,
because it was
full with an
innocent and
pure love. The
same love Marti
felt for the
children, who
-as he said-
represent "the
hope of the
world."
