for 11 years in
US jails for
fighting
terrorism, are
at the Federal
Detention Center
(FDC) in Miami,
awaiting a
rehearing, fixed
for October 13th
.
According to
on-line media,
among them
CubaDebate, the
three
antiterrorists
will appear
before a jury
that will inform
its verdict to
the judge Joan
Lenard who
already
sentenced The
Five in 2001
with very hard
punishments,
applied
incorrectly, in
accordance with
criteria emitted
by a tribunal of
appeals of the
Eleventh
District of the
Court of
Atlanta.
Since their
arrival to the
FDC, the three
Cubans were
subjected to
solitary
confinement in
the same unit
where they were
maintained for
17 months after
their
imprisonment.
The retrial
could repair
partly the
judicial outrage
against Ramon,
Antonio and
Fernando, but it
would leave
intact the
injustice
regarding Rene
Gonzalez and
Gerardo
Hernandez, this
previous falsely
accused and
sentenced to two
life
imprisonments
and several
years in the
jail by supposed
"association to
commit murder",
charge that the
prosecution
could not prove.
Thousands of
voices in the
world coincide
in that the
Cuban Five were
victims of the
hatred of
successive US
administrations
toward the Cuban
Revolution,
which they have
not been able to
destroy by means
of the economic,
commercial and
financial
blockade, the
armed
aggressions, the
biological war
against the
cultivations,
the flocks and
the human beings.
Gerardo
Hernandez, Rene
Gonzalez, Ramon
Labanino,
Antonio Guerrero
and Fernando
Gonzalez
compiled
information on
terrorist
organizations
that operate in
the south of
Florida, in
views to
frustrating
their terrorist
plans against
Cuba, but the US
government
arrested them
under the charge
of being spies,
to ingratiate
with the Cuban-American
mafia based in
Miami.
