Las Tunas, (Main
Writing Tiempo21).- At the
Eiffel Tower in Paris,
representatives of several
French Solidary Organizations
demanded the release of the
Cuban Five, antiterrorist
imprisoned in the United States
for over ten years.
A wire from the
Cuban News Agency points out
that Gloria Gonzalez Justo, on
behalf of the International
Committee for the Five, stressed
the long period of imprisonment
suffered by Antonio Guerrero,
Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labanino,
Gerardo Hernandez and Fernando
Gonzalez, who show firmness and
determination, despite the faked
trial they faced.
The information
specifies that some one hundred
people expressed their support
for the cause of those Cuban
patriots, whose initiative for
freedom had support at the
cities of Toulouse, Avignon and
Montpellier.
The activist
noted the continuous denial of
visas for relatives of the Five,
while Virgilio Ponce, by the
Coordinator of Cuban Residents
in France, highlighted the
example of courage and dignity
of those who are victims of the
U.S. cruelty against the
Caribbean island
During the
solidary meeting were also
represented the Coordinator in
defense of the Cuban Revolution
and the Freedom for the Five,
France-Cuba, Forum For Another
World, CubaSí France, Pole of
Communist Rebirth in France and
the French Communist Party.
Similarly, the
General Confederation of Workers
(CGT) French Rotative and Energy,
the NGO The Other Mail, Cuba
Cooperation and Cuban
ambassadors, in Paris, Orlando
Requeijo, and Mary Florez, to
UNESCO.
While in
Montevideo the Association of
Cuban Residents in Uruguay said
that the Cuban Five remain
unjustly imprisoned in U.S.
jails for trying to prevent
actions against their country by
terrorist groups based in Miami.
The members of
that organization in letter to
President Barak Obama demanded
to use his power to remove the
infamous accusation hanging over
these five Cubans.
