René
González Sehwerert, flight Instructor and specialist in technics
of aviation
Rene González Sehwerert was born on August
13, 1956 in Chicago, USA, in the breast of a Cuban emigrated
family where his father had to worked as metallurgist workman.
His family returned to Cuba in October 1961,
after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, he carried out his
primary studies at the school ‘’José Martí’’, in Santa María del
Mar where he was granted a scholarship.
He always had the aspiration of being a
pilot, however, when he had that opportunity, he postponed it to
fulfill a duty that he considered that may not be adjourned.
First he caused medical drop from the school of cadets
"Camilo Cienfuegos"
(the one named Camilitos) because he
was having hepatitis, this was in his basic secondary level, and
later because being militant of the Union of Young Communists,
he responds to a convocation to integrate the Manuel Ascunce
Domenech Pedagogical Detachment, and being already teaching
classes in a classroom in the High School in the Field (ESBEC)
named "República Socialista de Rumania", he receives the
citation to enroll.
He passed the General Military Service in a
voluntary way to tenor with his American nationality, in spite
of the new postposition that that meant his aspirations of
becoming pilot.
However, short time later, he was already
happy with his new specialty in the Military Service. His love
for his tank in which he acted in the military unit took him to
choose the Day of the Tanker, April 17, to marry Olga Salanueva
Arango, his current wife and his two daughters' mother: Irmita
and Ivett.
When concluding this period of his life, he
finishes with excellent qualifications and with the yearned
ticket in his hand to register in an aviation school, but when
he knew that his unit had the mission of going to the Popular
Republic of Angola to combat for the independence of that
country, he himself postponed his supreme dream of his life.
He completed internationalist mission in
Angola and when he returned it was that he finally became a
pilot at the School of Aviation "Carlos
Ulloa", working
as flight instructor at the Military Patriotic Society of
Education. He was a squadron chief in the base of San Nicolás de
Bari and chief of the section of aeronautical sports.
In 1990 he becomes member of the Party. At
the end of that year he leaves toward United States.
His stories of the faked trial made in Miami,
where he was wrongly sanctioned together with other four
countrymen, revealed the exceptional qualities that he possesses
as writer and journalist.
His mom is named Irma Sehwerert Mileham and
his father Cándido René González.
