constant battle against its
transmitter, the mosquito Aedes
Aegypti.
The proximity of Las Tunas to
the territories of Guantanamo
and Santiago de Cuba, with high
rates of infestation of the
vector, is an incentive factor
to strengthen the preventive
measures at home and at work, as
main objective to be encouraged
here by who boost a sanitation
campaign.
All the efforts are centered in
the municipality of Manati and
in this provincial capital, due
to the high level this kind of
mosquito, and the professionals
who arrive from regions where
the dengue is an endemic
epidemic are being watched to
detect the illness.
The specialists also assert that
the biggest quantity of
hatcheries of mosquitoes appear
in artificial deposits at the
different patios that must be
verified systematically.
In this campaign the most
important thing is not to
eliminate the mosquito as
species, but to continue
fomenting the combined works
between the different social
sectors so that the larvae
disappear on time or much better
to eradicate the places that
favor its living conditions.
