Las Tunas .- Although it is true that the
genetic factors influence on the obesity,
the lifestyles and the alimentary habits are
indissolubly bound with the fact that |
 |
|
the overweight is increasing
among the inhabitants of Cuba.
Although the sanitary
authorities insist on an
appropriate feeding that foments
healthy habits and that combines
the diverse nutritious food, the
Cubans continue preferring a
complex mixture of animal fat,
carbohydrates and proteins.
Recent studies assert that more
than 43 percent of the adult
population is over weight and
specialists think there is a
tendency to the scarce physical
activity that lead to a
sedentary lifestyle.
The experts discovered that
these tendencies to the increase
of weight are more present in
the west and in middle of the
country, but it cannot be
discarded that in Las Tunas,
like in the rest of the Cuban
geography, these figures also
increase, since children up to
five years old suffer from this
health problem.
So far the biggest
represecntativeness in the
overweight is observed in women
and it is also bound with the
sectors of less instruction
level, but the alert is for all.
It is considered that in the
world there are over 2, 300
million adults with overweight
and over 700 millions of obese
people for the 2015, what would
the most disseminated illnesses
in the globe.
The overweight, defined as an
excessive accumulation of fat
that ends up being harmful for
the health, leads to side
effects for the human life, for
that reason to control it is an
ideal formula to maintain the
life quality.
