When the year 2009 is about to conclude, the results reflect that more than 100, 000 patients have been assisted with the folk medicine, included here floral therapy, acupuncture and homeopathy.

In Las Tunas there is a center of folk medicine that propitiates the training of the personnel in charge of its application, which has had positive results in the improvement of the population's health.

The local authorities gave a big importance to this field of the medicine and not few investigations have been approved by the Provincial Scientific Council on this branch. Some of those researches have already been generalized and presented in different forums, like that of Science and Technique at different levels.
