Cuba
Develops Sublingual Vaccine
August 25,
2009, 1:59 pm
Las Tunas, (Main
Writing Tiempo21).- The Cuba’s industrial center (BioCen)
develops, among its last achievements, the
sublingual application of the first vaccines for the
treatment of the asthma.
A wire from the Cuban
News Agency specifies that the formula, |

develops the first allergens for the asthma
diagnosis. |
|
already approved by
the State Center of Control of Medications, has less
side effects than its predecessor, which was applied
mainly to children with a syringe.
The head of the
Department of allergens in BioCen, Alexis Labrada,
stated they are also working on the preparation of
active ingredients and on another vaccine that
should be more effective.
BioCen, located in the
municipality of Bejucal, Havana, is the unique
industrial maker of allergens in Cuba, applied in
the asthma diagnosis and other allergies, as well as
in the therapeutic treatment of those illnesses.
