2009 Returns to
Las Tunas

Las Tunas.- The
eastern province
of Las Tunas
will be once
again the
Capital of the
Magic in Cuba
since next
November 19,
beginning of the
15th
International
Festival of
Magic Anfora
2009.
This event,
which will run
up to next
November 25,
will have the
attendance of
the main
representatives
of the magic in
the Caribbean
island and the
representation
of companies of
other regions of
the world.
Madelaine Parra,
specialist of
promotion in the
Provincial
Center of the
Scenic Arts,
told Tiempo21
that he festival
is dedicated
this year to the
20th anniversary
of the Company
Huracán Mágico
(Magic
Hurricane),
directed by the
famed Jose
Reinerio
Valdivia
Valdivia
(Magician Piter),
creator of the
unique Magic
School in the
country.
The festival
will be
characterized by
the best magic
performance of
artists of other
Cuban provinces
who will fight
for the
different
laurels in
dispute.
Workshops,
symposiums,
lectures and
exchanges among
the professional
and amateur
magicians are
included among
the main
activities,
besides a
theoretical
event for
illusionists
only.
Big illusions,
Magic with
cards, Close up
Magic,
Telepathy,
Handling and
other
specialties
integrate the
shows that will
take place every
night in Tunas
Theater, of this
capital city, as
well as in the
Provincial
Museum Vicente
Garcia, the
Theater Raul
Gomez Garcia,
the cinemas
Luanda and 28 de
Septiembre.
Festival of
Magic Anfora,
unique of its
type in the
country, is
carried out in
Las Tunas since
1992 and it is
erected as an
excellent space
to acquire
artistic
knowledge and to
prove skills, as
a way of
achieving a
better social
recognition.
