Sanlope Publishing House Turns 18 Years in Las Tunas

Las Tunas. –The Sanlope Publishing House, of this city, about to be 18 years old, consolidates its literary productions with the best titles of local and national writers, like the famed poets Raul Orta Ruiz and Pablo Armando Fernandez.

Sanlope has printed some 250, 000 titles in eight lines of productions: Montaraz, for the famed writers; Tarot, for the beginner poets, Cabaniguan, dedicated to the social cultural and historical investigations; Caballo Blanco, to the narrative; and Vinagrito, for the children.

It also has an Ibero-American collection that publishes all the books rewarded in the competitions Cucalambe and Decima Joven de Cuba, while the collection Abierta gives light to the extensive texts, and to color, among others.

The Publishing House was founded in 1991 and takes its name of the local writer Manuel Napoles Fajardo, who decided to use like alias the anagram of his last name. The famed Sanlope was the author of Flores del alma, first book published in Las Tunas, in 1860.

At present the Publishing House pays homage to this wirter with the quality of its publications, very well represented in the last editions of the International Book Fair that takes place annually in all Cuba. The productions of the territorial editorial already surpass the figure of the 400 titles.
