Cucalambeana Folkloric Party Starts Monday in Las Tunas

Las Tunas. - The biggest
cultural party on the verse and
the improvised poetry, the
Cucalambeana Folkloric Party,
will begin next June 29 in El
Cornito, outskirts of Las Tunas
city.

Artists from 13 nations will play homage to Juan Cristobal Napoles Fajardo, El Cucalambe, the biggest bucolic poet in the 19th century, in Cuba.

|
|
With the presence of
more than a dozen of
nations the cultural
event will welcome all
the aspects of the Cuban
culture, will pay homage
to the 180 birthday
anniversary of Juan
Cristobal Napoles
Fajardo, El Cucalambe,
and to personalities
like Pablo Armando
Fernandez and Tomasita
Quiala.
The biggest foreign
participation is
represented by the
Mexican state of
Queretaro, town honored
in this rural festivity,
besides the presence of
artists and
investigators from
Germany, Honduras,
Argentina, Dominican
Republic, Brazil, Puerto
Rico, Chile, and
Uruguay, among others.
The Cucalambeana
Folkloric Party and the
16th Ibero-American
Colloquy on Ten-line
stanza will take place
at the same time with
the presence of
investigators, such as
Maria Teresa Linares,
Olga Portuondo, the poet
and essayist Virgilio
Lopez Lemus and the
director of the
historical museum in
Sierra Gorda, state of
Queretaro, Uniparo
Cabrera.
The Cucalambeana
Folkloric Party has a
wide program of
activities that will
integrate all the
cultural manifestations
besides developing
conpetitions of oral
improvisers, and rural
dances, among others.
