next March 5.
According to data, obtained by
the colleague of Radio Victoria,
Esnilda Romero Mana, the task is
foreseen in two stages and will
run until the end of April.
The first stage includes
children from one month to two
years, with 11 months and 29
days; while the second stage
reaches the distribution from
another dose to the same infants
and the reactivation of the
vaccine to 6, 600 children in
the age of nine years, with 11
months and 29 days.
The experts advise do not
vaccinate children who present
high fever, diarrhea and vomits,
as well as those that suffer
from an immunodeficiency or an
allergy to the formula.
The campaigns against the
poliomyelitis, a severe viral
illness, began in Cuba in 1962
and so far more than 78 million
doses of this vaccine have been
distributed in the Caribbean
island.
In the last 50 years Cuba has
eradicated by means of vaccines
other illnesses, such as
diphtheria (in 1979), measles
(1993), rubella and whooping
cough (1994); the neonatal
tetanus (1972), the syndrome of
congenital rubella and the
meningoencephalitis
posparotiditis (1989).
