Las Tunas.- The 11th National Meeting of Medical Schools was held this city, some 690 kilometers to the east of Havana, with the attendace of 140 delegates from all the provinces of the country to discuss key aspects on the student´s teaching and learning.

This is the climax of a process that began in each municipality and that leads to debate on how effective the academic life of the medical students, inclued those in nursing and dentistry, is in ralation with their residential life.

They also debate on their prevention work they carry out, with medical diagnostics, educative talks and researches, at remote communities, where they have to go as part of thier trainig as future professionals of the public health in Cuba.

Those 140 particiapnt students exchaged on their own experiences at the hospitals, clinics, communities or laboratories and many have known how difficult is to travel to remote regions to offer a healthy lifestyle and to change wrong habits to the rural population.

The University Student Federation (FEU) of these centers favors spaces like this for the appropriate discussion in search of offering an excellent health seservice.

In Cuba the Medical Sciences have a big amout of students and its professionals also give their solidary help in different pood nationd of the world.

But unfortunately, not all the students like their careers as it is expected, so the role of the FEU is very important to encourage them. Nevertheless, most of them are absorbed in their study, which must be constant to achive the best result in a career of health, as it was emphasized at the meeting.

The medical students also discussed about the excellence in the services, on thier learning during the medical visits they made with their mentors at hospitals, clinics and neighborhoods of the different regions of Cuba.

The participats also dabted some problems, such as the instability of physicians at the communities and the lack of hygiene in some health facilities, which can damage the patient and the medical staff.

The Head of Health Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Cuba, Gerardo Hernandez, asserted at the closing of the event that it is necessary to save all the resources without harming the quality in the services, because this is the only way to have a sustainable health system.

The best work for the young medical students in the country's economic battle is the saving of waste materials, and their constant study to be better professionals in their field.

These medical students are very eager to show how much they can do and give. They have unique teachers that make Cuba can count on one of the best health systems in the world and experts of genuine feeling.

These future professionals are addressing themselves in the desire to discuss what they want and need to do to help their people and their family to have a decent life and to enjoy right to health through prevention, saving and responsibility. Help to recover a life, to save what could be lost, that ... is to make a work of love and, luckily for the people, they are engaged in it.
