Las Tunas-. Among the fundamental merits that favor the prevention and the treatment of the anemia in Las Tunas eastern province is the intersectorality for monitoring this health problem of high risk in the population of the territory, some 690 kilometers to the east of Havana.

In Las Tunas the management is mostly stratified and has reached all age groups in every area of health and community, with emphasis in pregnant women and children under five years old, considered the most vulnerable groups to this health problem.

The prevention include schools because it is also necessary to foster healthy eating habits and increase the perception of risk by means of the teaching, so those scenarios are ideal places to take solid steps in this direction.

The control and monitoring of anemia is also a reason for the exploration of mechanisms that increase the production and consumption of vegetables through the integrated efforts of the urban agriculture and the authorities engaged in this process that create spaces for the dialogue with the family on this matter.

For several years the prevention of anemia in Cuba has had the full support of United Nations, while the government has established new integration mechanisms and trained professional to fight this sidease to its extinction.
