authorities, after the
inoculation with the
Pandemrix, vaccine
against the flu AH1N1
that is applied to the
most vulnerable groups
in Las Tunas since April
1st this year.
The vaccination campaign
is accompanied by
educative talks on how
to prevent the pandemic
and exhaustive physical
diagnosis and the
control of the arterial
pressure, with emphasis
in the patients of
affections that maintain
them in bed.
The specialists insist
that the Pandemrix is
used to fight the
pandemic and not against
the seasonal flu, so
frequent in the Cuban
population.
The intramuscular
vaccine, donation of the
Pan-American Health
Organization, is applied
in the whole country to
the most vulnerable
groups to the flu AH1N1
and will have a second
stage from May 3 to 15.
It is expected that some
46, 890 people receive
this medication in Las
Tunas, mainly children
from six months to nine
years old and pregnant
women.
The vaccine against the
flu AH1N1 can cause side
effects such as
diarrheas, migraine,
fever, vomits, sickness,
perspiration and
allergic manifestations,
among others.
The vaccination in
daycares and the special
schools is supported by
patents of the whole
province of Las Tunas.
