Las Tunas Nephrologists Refute Media Campaign against Cuba

Las Tunas, (Main Writing Tiempo21).- Nephrologists and other professionals of Las Tunas eastern province condemned, during a rally of revolutionary support at the hospital Ernesto Guevara in this city, the media campaign against Cuba boosted by the United States and the European Parliament.

Doctor Kenya Bosch, boss of the Provincial Group of Nephrology, highlighted that the achievements of the Cuban public health are practically unknown in the imperialistic media. The specialist also gave examples of the hemodialysis service that is offered free for 2, 500 patients that suffer from renal inadequacy in the whole country, while in many capitalist nations that costs thousands of dollars.

A wire from the Cuban News Agency points out that in this medical specialty the Cuban eastern province of Las Tunas has reached important results, since it has neurological rooms in this capital city and in the municipality of Puerto Padre, where there are installed 18 artificial kidneys.

The news agency quotes words by Emiliano Diaz Leyva, who suffered from renal chronicle inadequacy and thanked on behalf of the patients for the attentions received to improve their quality of life and emphasized that only a humanitarian system as that of Cuba can guarantee all the services of the hemodialysis.
