Five More Kittitians off to Study Medicine in Cuba.
Over 52, 000 people coming from 132 nations have graduated in Cuban schools.

bringing to 63 the number of nationals currently pursuing tertiary-level education at several universities in the larger Caribbean republic.

Such a figure could seem few, if one didn't keep in mind that from the victory of the Cuban Revolution, in 1959, the schools of this archipelago have assumed the instruction and the education of more than 52, 000 people coming from 132 nations, besides sending teachers and professors of several specialties to all regions of the world.

Cuban engineer Fernando Antonio Ferrera, who works in Saint Kitts and Nevis, told Tiempo21 that in the farewell to the students, Cuba’s Ambassador there Ana Maria Gonzalez, said 52 nationals have successfully completed degrees in 39 professional careers, 23 are medical doctors, eight of whom are currently in Cuba, specializing in various fields.

The foreigners who have studied in the larger Caribbean republic surpass in number, those less than 40, 000 inhabitants of Saint Kitts and Nevis, but the Cuban Government mainly prioritizes the collaboration with the smallest countries or of the smallest development, in spite of the US blockade.
