Las Tunas. - The
banner 70
anniversary of
the Workers
Confederation of
Cuba (CTC),
granted for
unique time,
already decks
out the walls of
the Medical
School Zoilo
Marinello
Vidaurreta,
located in Las
Tunas city, 690
kilometers to
the east of
Havana.
The labor center
has an
excellence work
in the academic
and moral
formation of the
future
professionals
who are linked
to different
medical
institutions,
where they make
practical
training and
acquire
abilities next
to experts since
the first years
of their
careers.
The CTC also
recognized the
vitality of the
Federation of
University
Students (FEU),
organization
that represents
the right of all
its members in
front of the
teaching staff.
Recently the
Medical School
of Las Tunas
credited ten of
its specialties
in each one of
its eight
municipalities,
act that
improves the
quality and
grants
reliability to
the educational
formation.
The statistics
asserts that the
investigative
activities
ascended to the
figure of 15,
000 and four of
the 14
scientific
events,
developed last
year, had a
national level.
The institution,
about to turn 26
years of being
created,
exhibits next to
the 70
anniversary of
the Workers
Confederation of
Cuba other
important
distinctions as
result of its
active
participation in
the prevention
of damages to
its workers and
students during
the passage of
the hurricanes
Ike and Paloma
in 2008.
In Las Tunas
province there
are eight
medical schools
where students
from the same
figure of
municipalities
of the province
and of countries
of Africa,
Central America
and the
Caribbean study
medicine,
dentistry,
nursing, other
14 technological
careers in this
field.
