Las Tunas .- Rumors of the Tropics is the painting exhibition that can be seen, with the exquisite style of Wilber Ortega, at the lobby of Tunas Theater, in this capital city, 690 kilometers of Havana.
This is the first time this plastic artist, born in 1970 in the municipality of Majibacoa, Las Tuna, has a solo exhibition exclusively landscape, in which the viewer has the impression he is in front of paintings, but to windows that display the beauty of the Cuban countryside with vivid naturalness.
Ortega sees nature as a "scene of seduction and challenge, a sympathy that began in my childhood and that fits a bit my fascination in it."
For this talented creator the most profitable of his dialogue with the environment is that "in terms of composition, color and brushstrokes, the imagination is also an inexhaustible source that feeds starting points of my work, with more subjective approaches. "
Wilber Ortega graduated at the Provincial Academy of Fine Arts, in 1993, in the speciality of painting.
He has made more than 15 solo and 60 group exhibitions. Moreover, he has received awards in several national and international events.
